This program is for carers living in Knox, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges. Eligible carers need to provide care to someone living with autism, intellectual disability or a mental illness, or with a severe or profound disability.
Provides flexible, responsive options for families, carers, children and young people impacted by mental illness, autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability, or are at risk of developing mental illness. Assistance is provided to enhance emotional health and quality of life, improve ability to sustain the caring role, reduce stress, improve relationships and balance caring with other parts of life.
Provides flexible and tailored services for families who are caring for a family member with a disability. Services include counselling, mediation and future planning support for families.
Specialises in services relating to aged care, disability, mental health, acquired brain injury, autism, transitional care, preventative care, dementia and respite. Supports children, young people, adults, older adults and carers in accessing information services and supports, assessment and planning, case management and coordination, advocacy, service delivery and carer support.
Our Carer Program, Grow Better Together, encourages and supports caregivers of people experiencing mental illness. It utilises the same key elements of the Grow Program encouraging carers to further develop their own personal resources, friendships and supports to overcome barriers they experience as part of their caring role.

Pathways for Carers project offers carers of people with a disability or mental illness an opportunity to share walks together and to learn more about news, services and supports available to carers. We will be joined on the walk by representatives from local organisations. The walk is along Liberty Avenue Reserve starting at Braeburn Avenue Rowville. Stay after the walk for a free coffee at Froth and Grind!

Carers Australia is the national peak body representing Australia’s unpaid carers, advocating on their behalf to influence policies and services at a national level. It works collaboratively with partners and its member organisations, the Network of state and territory Carers Associations, to deliver a range of essential national carer services which aim to improve the health, wellbeing, resilience and financial security of carers and to ensure that caring is a shared responsibility of family, community and government.
